Dont come here for a WOF! Took my car here and it failed on brake pads and lower arm control bushing. They quoted me $1400 lol. Even had the cheek to include replacing rotors in the quote which were perfect, no probelm with them at all. Ended up going to another mechanic which completed the work for $400 This place is out to scam you

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this WOF inspection centre. This is a second-hand car, not a brand-new vehicle. I purchased it just one year ago from a reputable nationwide used-car dealer, where it was sold in very good condition and with proper maintenance completed. Since then, the car has only been driven around 5,000 km. Despite this, your inspector came up with a long list of rejection items (half of which are about cheap light items, another half like brake pads have already been checked when serviced 1 month ago without any issue), and then quoted repair costs of over NZD 2,000. Let’s be realistic. The entire car is only worth about NZD 9,000. Claiming it suddenly needs this level of repair after minimal use seriously raises questions about the integrity and intent behind this inspection. I understand that economic conditions are tough, but running a business does not justify behaviour that feels like outright exploitation. If this is how inspections are conducted, it’s not hard to see why customers lose trust, and businesses like this struggle to survive. Advice to anyone looking for convenience: Do NOT come here for your WOF. You are far more likely to waste extra time and money than receive a fair and honest assessment.

Very disappointing experience with Midas. My car was dropped off on 29 December. After days of waiting, I was told on 5 January it might need a new starter motor, but I didn’t receive a quote until 14 January — around $3,000, which I declined. After I said I would likely tow the car away, the owner called me and suddenly said it might not be that expensive and that a relay issue could possibly be fixed for around $1,000, asking me to wait while he “checked further”. I then waited over a week with no updates at all. On 19 January, instead of a solution, they called to ask basic questions about how the fault happened, which could have been asked on day one. After I confirmed I would not proceed with any repair, I was issued a $500 labour invoice, just for diagnosis.

Best workshop I have ever been with. The receptionist is lovely and so careful to explain exactly what's going on with the car (including videos the mechanics took to explain the problem!). I have always been provided with multiple options for any jobs, e.g. second hand vs new parts, and the differences and benefits of each option very well explained and transparent. Always very fast and reliable. The mechanics are so nice as well, very thorough. Can't imagine going anywhere else.

Found this workshop very pleasing, did a service on my car. Booked in with ease and handled very well. Great customer service, was looking at their reviews and a lot of them turned out false, they stand up to there name and are truly trustworthy mechanics!
